Postdoctoral Research Position in Biostatistics
The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at UCSF is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge problems in statistical methodology, with a particular emphasis on causal inference and information synthesis. Methodological work will be closely linked to applications in cognitive aging research.
The postdoctoral fellow will be co-supervised by Dr. Chiung-Yu Huang and Dr. Fan Xia, whose research spans causal inference, semiparametric theory, survival analysis, and efficient methods for data integration and information synthesis.
Responsibilities:
Conduct methodological research in causal inference and data fusion.
Collaborate on applied projects with interdisciplinary teams.
Prepare publications for peer-reviewed journals and present findings at scientific meetings.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field (completed or near completion).
Strong background in statistical theory and methods.
Proficiency in statistical computing (e.g., R, Python).
Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
Appointment Details:
Start date: Early 2026
Duration: 1 year with the possibility of renewal up to three years.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and based on NIH or institutional guidelines.
